Are you feeling overwhelmed by life's stressors?
Struggling with self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors?
Feeling little joy or fulfillment in life, love or work?
Do you question your purpose in life?
You are not alone! I believe that one of the principle responsibilities of being human is to know who we are, to reflect on how to live life in a way that enhances and advances wellbeing (in self and others) and encourages us to recognize and cultivate what we have to contribute to the world. When we have not had the invitation to do this, we are more inclined to live the lives that seem expected of us and this can lead to mental, physical and emotional distress, straining relationships.
Psychotherapy offers people an opportunity, not just to learn skills that can be applied to cultivating better communication and relationship, but to develop the inner life of the individual. Before we can build better relationships with others, we need to develop an honest and authentic relationship wit ourselves.
Ann Stillingfleet MFT, The Illuminated Mind, provides counseling for people who have recognized both their need for help in navigating distressing life situations and their desire for change...to bridge the gap between life as it is... and the life they want.
Do you feel little hope that situations in your life will ever get better?
It may not feel like it right now, but there is always hope. I believe that we each possess the innate capacity to change, heal and grow and that in the therapeutic conversation, a connection is formed and a collaborative relationship forged that allows you to not only feel supported but, in time, empowered to make better choices, be more self-aware and feel more in charge of your life.
As a therapist I am committed to providing a safe, calming, non-judgmental and compassionate environment of care, with the intention to cultivate in clients the qualities of resilience, confidence and hope.
